Who we are
A Karachi-based organisation where like-hearted people come together and become agents of change.
Re-Birth Foundation (Saving Humanity) is a non-governmental, non-profit, politically impartial and non-sectarian organisation. We have worked in human development across Pakistan since 2016 and are registered under the Societies Act XXI of 1860.
Our focus areas are the ones we believe hold up a fulfilling life: human rights, advocacy, protection from child abuse, health and education.
We work with a few families and students at a time. We cannot change the world in one go, but if we can help a few people change their world, that is an inspiring beginning.
Re-Birth Foundation believes in community empowerment as opposed to a direct charity model.
How we started
- 2015A group of friends delivers health awareness sessions in Lyari, Karachi, then starts a women’s self-help group that saves together for medical costs.
- 2016While supporting a young boy from interior Sindh, the group decides it needs a proper platform. Re-Birth Foundation is founded and registered.
- 2017Free eye camp and awareness workshop in Lyari. Donors fund eye operations and help a single mother with her daughter’s wedding.
- TodayMedical camps in Karachi’s slum areas, and the new Pehchaan programme for schoolgirls in Lyari.
